Building the Collaborative Case From the Foundation Up – Virtual

**Space is limited to 40 participants!
Building the foundation for a successful Collaborative case starts with the first contact with a potential
client. In this workshop, we will explore how to conduct an initial consultation that creates the
opportunity for clients to select the best process and team for them and their family, with a focus on
how to present the option of an interdisciplinary team. We will then look at how to form a team and
start the Collaborative Process in a client‐centered approach that matches the clients’ needs with the
professionals’ expertise. In addition, we will examine how the professional team can assist the clients to
find and understand what is most important to them to reach the best agreement.
Learning objectives:
1. Assess the most effective method of helping parties in conflict choose a process option that
meets their needs.
2. Identify the steps and process to design and establish a highly functioning interdisciplinary
team.
3. Utilize the strengths of each profession’s knowledge and expertise to help parties’ reach an
agreement that addresses what is important to them.
