PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
This presentation provides an introduction to the psychological research on microaggressions and related suggestions for how to manage microaggressions in our personal and professional lives.

Microaggressions are brief, everyday communications of negative or discriminatory attitudes towards marginalized groups that often reflect misconceptions, ignorance or biases that lie outside awareness. We may be unaware we have engaged in a microaggression, yet the impact on others can be far-reaching.

OUR ESTEEMED PRESENTER:
Lindsey Sank Davis, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Clinical PsyD Program at William James College. She is a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist in practice in Massachusetts and New York. Dr. Davis has been an adjunct/part-time instructor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Harvard University, and she has presented at the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), American Psychological Association (APA), and American Psychology & Law Society conferences multiple times. Her research primarily addresses the spectrum of discrimination, from microaggressions to hate crimes.
